Around the world, 117 million people have been forcibly displaced due to conflict, poverty, and natural disasters, with many becoming refugees. They not only lose their homes and are separated from loved ones—sometimes forever—but also are stripped of their identity, freedom, and the future they should rightfully have. For girls, the challenges are even greater. On their long journeys of escape, they face violence, exploitation, and the dangers of sexual assault, struggling desperately to survive. For girls, the challenges are even greater. Becoming a refugee often means losing the right to education, leaving them vulnerable to child marriage, early pregnancy, and domestic violence, their chance to change their destiny is brutally cut off.

This year, Plan International is once again organising the "Run for Girls!" 2026. Every step you take in this charity run helps protect Rohingya refugee girls in Bangladesh. Funds raised will support child protection and girls’ rights programmes in the camps—providing education, restoring hope, and strengthening community awareness to prevent child marriage and sexual violence.
